Mr. Cleveland's bundle of joy

Mr. Cleveland, and Mrs. Canada-Cleveland, welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world week before last. I saw a picture of her on the nursery web cam and have only this to say, "It's damn good she looks like her mother!"

This little girl is lucky being born to two people whose love for each other will touch her life every day. Not a bad way to enter the world. Besides, she was born on a Thursday. Having been born on a Thursday, that isn't bad either. Although I am partial to St. Patrick's day.

Mr. Columbus's nesting...

Two of my closest friends' are expecting their first baby in July. These are really great people who will make excellent parents.

I can't wait to hear my good friend, Mr. Columbus, tell me stories about how accepting he is of his future daughter's boyfriends; friends with piercing; hoodlum friends; snobby friends; friend's with benefits.

Or should he find the apple of his eye, a bouncing baby boy tall tales shall abound of his son's fiddle playing; athleticism; more mojo than his daddy.

Ten fingers, ten toes, and Mr. and Mrs. Columbus will be happy all around. I still think they are crazy to wait until the birth to learn the sex. Well, since the outing of Mark Felt as Deep Throat, their baby's sex is one of life's last great mysterys.
